I saw sorta-related "Standish, get the smelling salts" behavior on one of the ESPN channels. Or maybe Fox Sports. One of the sports shows, at any rate, where everyone came to the "distressing" conclusion that Vick has die-hard fans that are African-American and who don't care what he's done!
Hell, Lynndie England has lots of white guy fans who think what she did was the bee's knee-pajamas (or "it was like a fraternity hazing"), and I'd hazard a wager that none of those fans have ever been on the receiving end of two-hundred years of court martials targeting female soldiers.
Also, you might want to have a look at what the national NAACP said (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2988279):
"Falcons quarterback Michael Vick 'is not a victim' and should be held responsible for his actions involving a dogfighting ring in Virginia, the national president of the NAACP said Thursday.
