Aug. 12th, 2007 05:59 pmSo, it's been a long difficult week.
Here's something that hopefully will give you a smile, if you're an Avenue Q fan.
First off, when Avenue Q first hit London, there was a unique skit they did for the intermission. A video in the style of an old Sesame Street sing a long would play during the last 4 minutes of intermission. It was written just for the London production-- it's called "Time". All you Matt Lucas fans, take note-- he has a cameo!
For reasons unknown, this video has since been cut from showings at the London Avenue q-- but here it is, via YouTube:
Next, we have this awesome mash-up for anyone who liked Fiddler On The Roof or Avenue Q-- Avenue Q and the revival of Fiddler on the Roof joined up at a BC/EFA's concert to present an Avenue Q version of Fiddler on the Roof: Avenue Jew. Fiddler and Avenue Q together? L'Chaim!
Heh. I love the "Tradition" parodies.
And finally, how's this for a class project-- high school kids in Argentina stage the opening of Avenue Q (Avenue Q Theme/It sucks To Be Me) for a competition. No puppets, but these kids rock the house-- and English is a second laguage for them!
The kids doing the roles of Kate Monster, Rod and Christmas Eve are spot on, too. I'm pretty sure they did the whole play-- check out "zembal"'s YouTube channel for more. I wish I knew who did the role of Rod in those-- he has some great ad-libs.
And finally, the London cast of Avenue Q is interviewed semi-character in character:
