One More Thing: The World Ends With You

Granted, I'm not very far into the game-- I've just gotten the Cola Pin or Soda Pin or whatever the heck it's called... the one you can tap to restore HP.

Anyhow, what I'm wondering, without any major spoilers is: Does Neku become less of a stupid douchebaggy ass anytime SOON? Because he's really, really getting on my nerves, and  the MAIN CHARACTER of a game is inherently unlikable, and stays that way for most of the game, I'd say that's a deal breaker and I'd rather trade it in to Amazon Game Trading and get some more amazon credit.

I really need to get back into playing TWEWY... I got to the second chapter and it got all hard again and then I got into other stuff, etc.

He gets less douchebaggy over time, and while I haven't read any spoilers to verify this, but based on some other stuff in the game, I am assuming WHY he's a douchebag in the game makes sense in context and is a big deal.

He does. He's still kind of a jerk by the end of the game, but in a tough-love kind of way rather than the whole no-one-is-cool-enough-for-me act he has going on at the beginning. If you can't tell by now, he has serious trust issues, and is a bit of a hikkomori. (Without spoiling anything, this is a direct result of how he was brought into the Game.) He softens up a lot after he makes a few friends.

Yes! I thought the same thing when I started it, and it really annoyed me too. But indeed, as the plot progresses, he gets a lot better. Keep at it, because that game is awesome.
