So my mom arrived safe and sound yesterday.

Today at Wal-Mart, we pass the electronics section, and starts asking about iPods and mp3 players and what they are and what they do...

...once I explained about the "music from ythe computer" and told her I'd give her one of my mp3 players (the Sansa eClip, holds 2 GB and is smaller than her pack of cigarettes), and now she's having me get her some Sting, Eagles, Morrison, Sinead O'Connor, and Moody Blues tracks. She is so excited!

This is making me smile. I was gifted with an iPod for my (mumble-mumble) birthday and I never thought I would actually use it. Once I found out how it worked and that I could load my own CDs onto it, and once I also discovered podcasts, I am thrilled to pieces with it. Horrible thought: I would suppose your mother is about my age. She reacted the same way I did. :-)

My mother won't let me give her any music from the internet, even albums she already owns or has owned, due to legal fears. She seems unconcerned that all the nintendo games I've been running on my computer for the last eleven years that we obviously never had in our house are just as illegal.

That's great. I gave my mom a mp3 player too! I made sure to sneak some FF music on there too. ;)
